Although it may be overshadowed by the bigger cities of Tampa, Orlando and Miami – the Bold City has so much to offer, especially downtown Jacksonville, FL. If you are looking for dinner spots with city scapes, vintage bookshops and rooftop hangs after a baseball game – you will love exploring the city. If you have been following me for awhile, you know I always sing the praises of our small city hub. Even though I have written about things to do in downtown Jacksonville, and explored the street art scene with you, I thought it was time for a guide. To plan a trip to Jacksonville often means numerous trips to the beach, soaking in the sun, and some water sports. Even locals don’t think of downtown as a destination by any means. As a new Jacksonville resident, I love spending time in the city. When planning a trip to downtown Jacksonville, there are many unique locations to add to your list. Seeing as this part of the city is not filled with tourists, many of the things to do in downtown Jacksonville are all one of a kind. Street art, rooftop happy hours, unique shops all resting a block from the St. Johns River. You may not think that Jacksonville will fuel your hunger for eclectic city vibes, but I would be prepared to be surprised (at least I was).
