There are two coffee shops in Springfield, Jax that I frequent and are the perfect spots to start your morning in this ever growing area of Jacksonville. 1748 Bakehouse Locals themselves, the owners (both the chef and baker), are committed to fresh ingredients and serving the community they love. Amazing pastries and breakfast/lunch menu (my favorite is the french toast) as well as tea, coffee and kombucha. Social Grounds Coffee This coffee shop on Main Street is not only serving up great coffee, but they are bettering the community through partnering with organizations and serving downtown Jacksonville as well as veterans. One of my favorite coffee shops, a few breweries and a city vibe are all reasons to stay awhile in this neighborhood; making it the perfect place for a spot in the Jax Date Series. Filled with historic fixer-uppers, this area is celebrating there 150th anniversary so keep an eye out for events, including the Porch Fest in November that I am eagerly looking forward too! If you favor a city environment in an area that is enriched with character and has such pride in their community – this place is for you.
