Vejer de la Frontera is a well-known pueblo blanco in the Cádiz and Andalucía region (and for good reason). Although somewhat popular, it always feels tranquil and quiet when I visit. The village seemingly has it all, from small shops, market with food stalls, picturesque views and incredible restaurants. The small towns in this region on Spain bring me more inspiration and joy than the well-known cities – the authentic nature of them leaves you in awe. If you are planning a day trip to Vejer de la Frontera I hope this guide can help you have the best visit. Where to park The easiest place to park is at an outside lot (no stressful parking garages) at the bottom of the hill. You can easily head up to the town in a short, under 10 minute walk. If you are traveling with a stroller, there is a ramp you can push it up the whole way. Bring a stroller that does well with hill because even when you get tot he town, there will still be many! If you decide to stay the night or head there for the weekend these two hotels would be on my list: […]

A small downtown lends itself to being manageable and also perfect for kids. Of course, I think most cities are awesome for little ones, and downtown Jacksonville with kids is no exception. I Hope this list gives you some ideas if you need a morning or afternoon adventure in the city keeping your kids busy (you will love it, too). Main St. Library One of my favorite places to bring our toddler! They have a reading time every Tuesday and Saturday which is fantastic. The library always has crayons and coloring, a sunny-filled room with kids toys, a mini puppet theater and not too far outside is a fun fountain to run around. James Weldon Johnson Park Across from the main Library is a park with food trucks, music tables and chairs. A fun spot for some food and getting their energy out. St. Pete’s Candy Shop Willy Wonka meets Alice in Wonderland? Packed with candy, color and some arcade games, St. Pete’s is fun to explore on it’s own or see what classes they have for a more scheduled visit. You can sign up for story time that includes a story, a treat and a craft. They also […]

The city of Jacksonville, FL is one that often flies under the radar with hip establishments to grab a few cocktails, a flourishing street art scene and all the potential to keep growing. Although it may be overshadowed by the bigger cities of Tampa, Orlando and Miami – the Bold City has so much to offer, especially downtown Jacksonville, FL. If you are looking for dinner spots with city scapes, vintage bookshops and rooftop hangs after a baseball game – you will love exploring the city. If you have been following me for awhile, you know I always sing the praises of our small city hub. Even though I have written about things to do in downtown Jacksonville, and explored the street art scene with you, I thought it was time for a guide. One that is filled with the places we love to eat, where to go for happy hour and to shout out all there is to admire about the heart of Jax. Where to stay in downtown Jacksonville Downtown Jacksonville is slowly but surely seeing tons of growth and although many residents don’t live in the city center currently, that will change in the coming years.

The first time I visited Savannah, we were able to see, eat and do so much. Brunch at Collins Quarter, Stroll around Forysnth park and we tried to squeeze in delicious dinners, drinks and coffee spots. When we returned for only one night, I felt less eager to do everything (due to time restraints) but also wanted slower mornings and one fantastic dinner. When seeing Savannah, especially for the first time, it is understandable to hope and accomplish all the sights and tastes you wish. If you are looking for a more relaxed way to see the city I hope this is helpful. Feel free to visit my post, a quick guide to a weekend in Savannah (for first-timers), that has more recommendations. Where to stay for a slow weekend in Savannah Choosing the hotel for a relaxing weekend is key (in my opinion) to enjoying a city. One that has an amazing dining option, rooftop drinks or the perfect spot for morning coffee that feels like home, is ideal. Thankfully, Savannah has amazing hotels full of design and character. Perry Lane Hotel A stunning choice with a view of the steepled skyline on their rooftop bar (Peregrin), as […]
