If you have read my post on how to embrace Fall in Florida, you know it is all about Fall scents and flavors are key to soaking up the Autumn season. It may be 80 degrees out, but it can smell like you are surrounded by crisp New England air and vibrant foliage. Since there is no better place to buy some Fall scented candles then locally I hope this list of where to shop local for Fall candles in Jacksonville, FL helps you to shop small. As a reminder, always check our the shops social media for any pop-up events they will be doing – especially as we head into the holiday season! Candleleaf Organic, vegan soy wax and cotton wicks. Their scents are created with natural essential oils. They have wonderful scents in their fall collection (and you can even choose an amber glass, which I love). Find them at the Riverside Arts Market or shop online. I have my eye on Orange Rind & Clove or Pumpkin & Persimmon. Website | Instagram Grumpshine Candles Grumpshine uses clean ingredients and their rocks glasses are reusable and packaging is sustainable! Check out their “our retailers” section to visit local shops […]

Riverside is an area that could be a date location for any time of the day. Although I am sure morning and afternoon will be covered along the way of my jax date series, starting your ladies or date night in this trendy neighborhood is ideal (especially in the heat of the summer). Five Points is an area that is always full of energy and you always have a place to go (into the wee hours of the night). Rooftop hangs, quirky bars and antique shops fill Park Street and is always bustling with people enjoying a movie or happy hour. There are so many date ideas in this small area of Riverside, but this “datitineary” is perfect for the summer and warm nights. If you enjoy shared plates, drinks with a view and a night of whimsical gardens and art – this date (solo or not) is for you. Share small plates & drinks at Hawkers Asian Street Fare Hawkers has more than one location in Florida (two in Jacksonville) and their food is the perfect place to split the plethora of menu options they provide. If you are there Monday-Friday, they have a great happy hour deal on […]

I have officially been living in Florida for over a year (whoa). Personally I never thought I would live in the Sunshine State, regardless of how many spring breaks and blizzard escapes were spent here. Even when the cold and snow broke me between living in Chicago and New England, I moved to San Diego, CA for a warm change. There seems to be a stigma regarding Florida; snow birds, the overwhelming humidity, and a touristy place to enjoy the white sand beaches.
