The island consists of great shops for tourists and locals, delicious places to eat and Golden Isle views. I have been so surprised by the day trips we have been able to experience. Before moving to Jacksonville, I had no idea how beautiful the coast of Georgia is and how lucky we are to have immediate access to it. Although this island has its fair share of seasonal tourists, full and part-time residents alike enjoy this island as well. We visited during the off-season (January) and loved the laid-back, cozy vibe. I hope to return in the summer to take full advantage of the beaches and resorts. Where to stay during a weekend on St. Simons Island We decided to stay at the Village Inn & Pub due the quaint feel and location to downtown but other options that seemed great were Sea Island Inn and The King & Prince Beach & Golf Resort.
