Once I found Hotel Resporpia, I knew it would be an excellent choice. The pictures showed western style beds, that continued on to a tatami floor complete with a balcony that looked out to the ocean. In fact, choosing an ocean view is your ONLY option – so makes your decision pretty easy. Check in The room Checking in, I was hoping photos would be a reality, and to my pleasant surprise – the room was perfect! Already impressed by the beautiful lobby, I had a feeling it would be. There is something magical about staying in a Ryokan. Whether it is wearing Yukatas throughout your stay or the insane hospitality that always occurs – they are my favorite lodging option in Japan. My first time experiencing the Ryokan life was in Hakone, another memory that I will FOREVER cherish. Seems to me, great night sleeps also exist in Ryokans.
