I can sense the cold Chicago weather on the horizon so naturally I am pulling out all my sweaters, scarves and boots! I won’t have to sweat through my long sleeves forcing fall fashion (for now).  Also…

SCARF SEASON. Is there a better one? I am pretty sure my wallet starts shaking as soon as fall clothes come out. It is so tempting to buy every rust colored sweater, every camel colored bootie and every bomber jacket. Good thing for my thrift fashionistas – sweaters are always a good buy at thrift shops! I will try and show some thrift items that are fall friendly and will give your wallet a break. For now…here are clothes I had in my closet (and a new pair of jeans, guilty)!

These pants are my new fav, and a staple going into the season! You will see them in a lot of posts because 1) I wear black a lot and 2) they go with so much! They are high-wasted and SO comfortable (linked below). Basics are key for all your colorful buys!

One of my favorite plaid scarves because it is filled will fall colors! You can pick cardigans or shoes to highlight each one (I chose a green cardigan to match the olive in the scarf and pulled in the cranberry color with my booties). Olive shoes would also be amazing!

The long sweater is from cotton on last year so they no longer have it, but I linked a similar below. They have a LOT of cute sweaters this season, so check them out for colors and styles. This pocket tee is my go to and I hope to buy more colors because nothing beats a good v neck tee (linked below)!

I loveee these wine colored booties. Usually I go for neutral colors but these are just the right amount of pop. It is a perfect holiday color for Thanksgiving and beyond. I linked these exact ones (found them on ebay) and also linked similar ones at the very bottom.

This is a very easy, recreatable look. Play around with your basics and colors so the scarf really pops!

I can’t wait to show more fall and winter looks as I do more traveling in “cooler” temps. I also hope this gives some inspiration for items you may already have in your closet!

This is one of my favorite ways to style this popular plaid scarf – how do you style yours?

Stay warm!

Love always,
