Into the Weekend

Hello!

I’m trying out a new series for you to read over your Friday morning coffee – we can see how it goes 😉

I love reading other blog posts similar to this or newsletters (a few that inspired this one is Lynzy and Co’s Newsletter, Jess Ann Kirbys “Click.Read.Love.” and Caroline’s Un-Fancy’s blog).

First up – we went strawberry picking this last weekend and if you’re in Florida now is the time to enjoy this amazing season – it really is the best! We headed out in the morning to Family Towers Farms and beat the rain to pick berries and enjoy the perfect weather we are having.

Another thing to mention – support your bakeries that are using these local farms. In Jax, Community Loaves and 1748 Bakehouse are a must.

Travel

I’m looking forward to some upcoming travel and in preparation, really honing in on my spring wardrobe. I’ve been improving on overpacking and hope to continue. Ideally I will have a Spring packing list up in the next couple of weeks. This may be a tricky season to pack for, but I am determined to go simple.

I’ve seen this pill travel organizer on Instagram – thinking of getting it for vitamin/misc organization, or this one.

On my radar is an electronics organizer. like this one (for my chargers, camera, phone etc.).

Instagram has me yearning for a trip to Copenhagen (this reel) – I just love Scandinavian design and aesthetics. Another country is Scotland (watch this gorgeous video of places to stay). I never had a strong urge to visit the country but I may need to add it to my list now.

A friend of mine shared this article with me about how people miss Japan more than any other country in the world, and boy is it true. Please make visiting Japan on your list. I wrote a blog post all about 30 things I miss about living in Japan, here.

Inspiration

A blog to check out if you love fashion

I’ve mentioned this on Instagram and above, but you need to subscribe to Caroline’s blog un-fancy. She isn’t on Instagram anymore, but I love getting an email when she has a new blog post.

Spring outfits

Typically, at least in Florida, I prefer winter to stay a bit longer but I’m looking forward to spring and brighter colors. I often feel that Instagram showers us with neutral wardrobes and this new season I want to dabble in some color. Below is inspiration from Pinterest for Spring.

Recent Purchases

I ordered this well-rested duo (I was influenced by an Instagram ad for the eye masks) and decided to try the eye cream as well. I love a self care moment. I gave the eye masks a try only once, and love them.

My new go-to Jean Shorts (curvy fit) (regular version) just arrived – no distressing, long and a perfect light wash. See Caroline’s blog post for inspiration. She is the inspiration for the jean shorts and H&M blazer below (along with other spring pieces I’ve bought).

Looking forward to wearing light spring layers like my trench coat, and spring blazers, like this one.

I mentioned this in my “things I’m loving blog post recently, but these jeans are on major repeat for winter and spring.

Listen & Watch

Although I’ve never been interested in Pamela Anderson’s life, her documentary is really interesting and gave me a whole different perspective.

Everywhere, Everything, all at once – wow. It’s Oscar season and I’m behind but I try to watch as many as I can. This movie has 11 nominations. It’s wildly interesting, dark and comedic all at the same time. Reminder, the Oscars are 3/12, and so is daylight savings.

This is the first season I’m not watching the Bachelor – I’ve watched it for years! Anyone else?

If you are a parent I highly recommend this podcast epsiode on sharenthood. We shouldn’t be using kids as content (and this episode even convicted me to not share the content, as funny as it may be). Something to think about as this world is not regulated enough when dealing with kids privacy….

Read

It’s humorous that I have a reading section because I just haven’t made it a habit, but working on it….

I am making my way through “It Ends With Us” finally, and it’s good so far. My motivation is Blake Lively being casted in the movie (don’t judge).

One of my favorite bloggers mentioned this book (How to do the work) and I may order it – have you read it?

I’m looking for a devotional and I saw someone post Cleerley Stated – would love to know if there are any you love or are currently enjoying.

Thanks for reading, and have a great week!

Best,

Katherine
