The best discoveries are often during the times when you are just walking the streets of Shibuya, am I right? Known for small cafes and tiny bars, Tokyo surprised me by the size of Roasted Laboratory Coffee. The outside street patio will transport you to some European city when really you are minutes from the iconic Shibuya crossing. The location, quaint checkered chairs and numerous places to settle in will keep you returning to this coffee joint.

Place your order inside (the menu consists of anything from a latte, cold brew, acai bowl and much more). Due to no wifi, it may not be the best place to get work done, but that makes it a great spot to unplug and be outside (or stay warm inside).

If you stumble upon this cafe in the sweltering heat of summer, consider ordering one of their seasonal drinks. Order the frozen lemonade to keep you cool (or regular lemonade it looked so refreshing) for your Tokyo sightseeing day.

Although I love exploring individual quaint neighborhoods that lay on the outskirts of Tokyo, this cafe is conveniently located near some of the top sights of Tokyo and the perfect place to start your full day of walking or fulfill the need to have a long overdue conversation with a friend, or yourself 😉
