If you follow me on Instagram, you know we have made visiting Jekyll Island an annual tradition. Although I have written about five experiences to have on Jekyll Island, I thought I would put together some ideas for visiting Jekyll Island with a toddler. You are able to cook, store groceries and have a separate room from when your little one is sleeping. The Westin on the island we have stayed at twice – once with kids, and once with two babes! We got the suite, because we like having that extra […]

I had little knowledge of the barrier islands of Georgia (and honestly other than Atlanta, Georgia was never in the forefront of my mind as a travel destination). The Peach State offers so much more than humidity and a great aquarium. The Barrier Islands or Golden Isles, are an amazing travel destination and I can’t believe they are accessible in such a short time from Jacksonville. There was a small part of us that wanted to add St. Simons Island as a part of our trip, but I am glad we strictly stayed put on Jekyll Island. St. Simons I assume deserves it’s own weekend. Where to stay We personally enjoyed staying at the Westin Jekyll Island. On the ocean side of the island, they have bike rentals, a pool and other wonderful facilities. Grab coffee and a snack from the Westin Cafe and head to their terrance to enjoy the ocean view. The location is in the heart of local shopping and places to dine. Next time I […]
