Recycle the sparkle

Winter time is here! Ok, well not OFFICIALLY but the number of holiday parties that will come your way you may need to plan your outfits early, and you most likely will need more than one. And with each outfit, there is money to spend (even with all the holiday deals)! So let me give you some thrifted inspired holiday outfits starting with this maxi I had in my closet and a thrifted gold sparkly top. Sequins and sparkles are not something I wear all the time (pretty sweet if you do though) so not investing in a new piece just for one time of the year is IDEAL.

Re-using clothes in your closet (like this maxi skirt from a few seasons back), and adding a $4 thrifted shirt with $8 boots (proud thrift purchase right there) is a great way to recycle clothes and not break the bank for all the holiday parties you have to go to. I liked the idea of some thrifted chunky jewelry so I “splurged” and got one for around $6 from Goodwill to complete the outfit and added some other jewelry I owned. That is $20 of *new* items for an entire outfit.

The green emerald bracelet is from an awesome organization called the Shine Project and the necklace is on sale right now from 31 bits (they were apart of my gifts that give back gift guide and have beautiful jewelry)! I also linked some similar items from this look below, and sparkle tops I love.

The holidays are already an expensive time so no need to go out and buy another outfit. I hate buying “occasion dresses” for one party, anyone else with me? Make use of what you have and buy something *new* at your local thrift shop to throw together your perfect holiday look.

As always, happy thrifting!
