A Jax date night inspired by Flamingos at the Cummer Museum

If you are local to Jacksonville, you have probably seen that the Cummer Museum has a new outdoor Exhibit that is really fun (and whimsical). This is the first time the museum has had an horticultural exhibition. Although the gardens have always been beautiful, the 50 begonias flamingos are a welcome addition along the river.

With the nights getting warmer, and later sunsets – this would be a wonderful date night:

I have one similar (and many other) Jax date ideas for you here.

Cummer Museum

Check out the newest exhibits “Flamboyance! A Topiary Menagerie” mentioned above, and “Anila Quayyum Agha: Flight Patterns.” I was so impressed with both.

Did you know that after 4PM on Tuesday’s and Friday’s the Cummer Museum is free?! I had no idea – something to consider when you pick when to go.

Drinks at River & Post Rooftop

As I was leaving the museum, I was brought back to a time of getting drinks at the rooftop at River & Post (walkable from the museum). I saw the most gorgeous pink sunset as the backdrop to the Jax skyline. I love this rooftop for city views. Head there for cocktails for golden hour.

Head to dinner at Josephine in Avondale.

A newer restaurant in Jacksonville, this is a perfect date night restaurant. Their food is locally sourced, and dishes aren’t defined by the Italian cuisine – innovative and unique. The interior is cozy, yet intentional. You will love your dining experience, creative cocktail menu and knowledgeable staff.

An evening at the museum, rooftop drinks and an incredible dinner – a simple yet perfect date in the Bold City.

Best,

Katherine
