When I travel to a new city, I tend to often look up rooftop bars in the area as they are always a great way to see a skyline or other epic views with a craft cocktail in hand. The grueling humidity soaked summer is well behind us which means mosquitos (mostly) leave us alone, and the temps are just right. It only makes sense to embrace the pristine weather and explore all the Jacksonville hiking trails and state parks Jacksonville, FL has to offer. If you hail from California, Colorado or another state of high elevation these hikes will seem much different, but beautiful in their own way. Florida State Parks are absolutely gorgeous, and you can travel through multiple eco systems, gardens and lush forests. Visiting Jekyll Island with a Toddler

If you follow me on Instagram, you know we have made visiting Jekyll Island an annual tradition. Although I have written about five experiences to have on Jekyll Island, I thought I would put together some ideas for visiting Jekyll Island with a toddler. One of the Golden Isles, it can be enjoyed in every season. We often head there in the winter, and you all know I love destinations in the off-season. Especially in the south, because you never know what surprise nice weather you could receive. Where to stay on Jekyll Island with a toddler If you are staying with kids, I highly recommend the Home 2 Suites by Hilton. We have stayed their two years in a row, and the suite set-up with a small kitchen is ideal for families. You are close enough to walk to the beach and your stay may be more affordable, as well. The city of Jacksonville, FL is one that often flies under the radar with hip establishments to grab a few cocktails, a flourishing street art scene and all the potential to keep growing. Although it may be overshadowed by the bigger cities of Tampa, Orlando and Miami – the Bold City has so much to offer, especially downtown Jacksonville, FL. If you are looking for dinner spots with city scapes, vintage bookshops and rooftop hangs after a baseball game – you will love exploring the city. Five Small Rhode Island Towns to Visit

Many who visit Rhode Island often plan trips to Newport or Providence (which are places I do highly recommend), but there are so many small Rhode Island towns full of New England charm that are worth a visit. Five Small Rhode Island Towns Westerly/Watch Hill A town that has somehow remained under the radar even with Taylor Swift purchasing a mansion on the water. My mom and I always joke that she should let us use her house when she isn’t there…I mean, why leave it empty? Downtown Westerly is growing into the most darling town with new businesses popping up and adding one of my favorites, knead doughnuts. After getting coffee or lunch (Cinder Restaurant and Grey Sail Tap Room/Brewing Company are on my list for next time) head to Watch Hill to soak up sometime near the water. Once parked in Watch Hill, I recommend walking along the water lined street with little shops and then head up to Ocean House for drinks and appetizers – all walkable once you park! Beautiful Design Hotels For Your Next Weekend Getaway From Jacksonville, FL

As my love for travel has grown, so has my passion for documenting the hotel stays that always keep design top of mind. Boutique hotels that care for every detail, those that tell a story and whose aesthetic inspires me in my everyday life. Especially as I decorate a new home myself, I find myself pulling from past hotels (especially as I dabble into more color). A Guide to a Slow Weekend in Savannah, GA

The first time I visited Savannah, we were able to see, eat and do so much. Brunch at Collins Quarter, Stroll around Forysnth park and we tried to squeeze in delicious dinners, drinks and coffee spots. When we returned for only one night, I felt less eager to do everything (due to time restraints) but also wanted slower mornings and one fantastic dinner. When seeing Savannah, especially for the first time, it is understandable to hope and accomplish all the sights and tastes you wish. Since moving to Jacksonville three years ago, we have embarked on so many great day and weekend trips – this post is a long time coming! Although there are a few on my list yet to wander to, this guide of Jacksonville weekend getaways is a great place to get you started. Jekyll Island Distance from Jacksonville: 1Hr 15 minutes One (out of many) surprises for me when first moving to Jacksonville, but how beautiful the coastline of Georgia was. The Golden Isles seem underrated, and a small travel treasure while cities like Savannah and Charlestown take the lime light. The Golden Isles are close enough to be day trips, while also providing the perfect opportunity for a relaxing and romantic getaway. With that said, Jekyll Island is perfect for a weekend of bike riding, walking by the beach or laying by the pool. An afternoon in Winter Park, FL

The main pull for heading to the Orlando area was the many restaurants we had heard about. Spending an afternoon in Winter Park, FL was high on our list and is the perfect place to enjoy some slow travel. To be honest, I thought we would spend a lot more time here, but with our hotel situated in downtown, we loved exploring the city itself, as well. A simple afternoon was spent in Winter Park, FL – and I would love to return in cooler seasons, with less humidity. Even so, there were so many darling spots in this quaint town. Here are a few moments we enjoyed if you hope for a simple afternoon. Coffee or Breakfast at The General Store The perfect spot to grab some brunch and coffee on the go or sit outside after perusing the store inside. Not too far from the main street, this was a wonderful way to start the day. The beach scene here in Jacksonville contrasts to the more urban feel of Riverside and Murray Hill yet still oozes with cool spots to grab coffee, a fun matcha drink or even some breakfast and baked goods. When visiting coffee shops in Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach, you will find unique spots as well as a few that are have multiple locations. Show Pigeon Coffee Google Maps Location A spot I frequent, I love kicking it in the morning here soaking in the outdoor stylish ambience of Hotel Palms. She makes incredibly unique coffee creations and I highly recommend stopping here! Homespun Kitchen Google Maps Location My favorite place to pick up breakfast burritos (the Phoenix is my go-to) and smoothies (A-Aron is delicious) before you had to picnic at the beach.
