What to pack for a mountain lodge getaway

About a week ago I was on a plane heading to the Catskills of NY for the perfect Fall getaway complete with smores, mountains, and a cozy mountain lodge. Having recently moved to Florida, the heat the last few months was quite the adjustment and I was desperately longing to pull out my leather jacket (or any layer). While writing this post I find many other items I could have brought if the trip lasted longer ( I wish it could have)! I hope this post helps you think about what to pack for a Fall mountain lodge getaway!

For those of us who grew up in places who experience incredible Falls – we take it for granted. There is something about the leaves changing, the smell of crisp air, and not sweating through t shirts in October that brings me the most joy. When a few friends and I decided to travel to New York, I was eager to start planning all the warm layers I would pack.

I was desperate for cooler weather, and what a better way to experience your favorite season with a little travel and picturesque getaway! We checked into the Scribner’s Catskill Lodge in Hunter, NY and didn’t want to leave! Other than a small day trip to Hudson (highly recommend visiting for Fall), we played games, ate delicious food and spent time in our cozy rooms and comfortable lobby. I was in slippers the majority of the time and had no complaints. 😉

What to pack for a mountain lodge getaway

Flannels

Would it even be a Fall getaway without a flannel? A flannel, leggings, and slippers are a uniform I can get behind. The best part is flannel will never be out of style, and I hope it stays that way!

Some ideas:

Leggings

Faux leather leggings, jeggings or just your average pair – who wants to wear jeans during a cozy getaway? Being comfortable is a top priority for me and should be for you. I have had the same pair of Forever 21 leggings and I haven’t grown tired of them. I bought the Spanx leggings but I am still mulling over if they are for me.

Some ideas:

Sweaters & Sweatshirts

Every store this time of year is filled with an abundance of cute simple sweatshirts and Autumn worthy sweaters. Any Fall getaway needs a few. I always need to stop myself from buying trendy sweatshirts, but I just love how “leisurewear” is such a trend now. Can wearing sweatshirts always be trendy please?!

Some ideas:

Hats & Scarves

Apparently I am on a buffalo plaid kick, because I still can’t get enough of my plaid winter beanie and a few other articles of winter accessories I own in this pattern. Target, Amazon – they all have great felt brimmed hats (my current favorite Amazon purchase) or warm winter hats. A hat just really puts an outfit together with minimal effort (that I am all about).

Some ideas:

Sweater Ponchos/Capes

The easiest (and most recent purchase of mine) is a sweater poncho. I picked one up at Target and it will now be a warm weather staple for me.

Some ideas:

Slippers

My go to shoes this past trip to our mountain lodge. I recently bought this pair from Amazon as I was in desperate need for a new pair. They are everything you want in a slipper – warm, cozy and comfortable.
