If you are local to Jacksonville, you have probably seen that the Cummer Museum has a new outdoor Exhibit that is really fun (and whimsical). This is the first time the museum has had an horticultural exhibition. Although the gardens have always been beautiful, the 50 begonias flamingos are a welcome addition along the river. With the nights getting warmer, and later sunsets – this would be a wonderful date night: I have one similar (and many other) Jax date ideas for you here. Cummer Museum Check out the newest exhibits “Flamboyance! A Topiary Menagerie” mentioned above, and “Anila Quayyum Agha: Flight Patterns.” I was so impressed with both. Did you know that after 4PM on Tuesday’s and Friday’s the Cummer Museum is free?! I had no idea – something to consider when you pick when to go. Drinks at River & Post Rooftop As I was leaving the museum, I was brought back to a time of getting drinks at the rooftop at River & Post (walkable from the museum). I saw the most gorgeous pink sunset as the backdrop to the Jax skyline. I love this rooftop for city views. Head there for cocktails for golden hour. […]

All the wonderful and diverse neighborhoods that exist in Jacksonville means many potential date night restaurants. Choosing may be the hard part. Rooftops with city views, chef adventure tasting menus or simply a cozy Italian spot are all options when it comes to dinner date spots in Jacksonville, FL. Although we still have some on our list, we have been able to eat and drink at quite a few, so I hope this list is helpful as you search for the perfect restaurant to enjoy fine dining of the Bold City. Primi Piatti Google Maps Location Our favorite Italian place! I love this quaint spot in Riverside – the hospitality and food are unmatched. Norikase Google Maps Location Ideal for a big celebration – their Omikase tasting (and sake tasting) are superb but you can dine in with their normal menu as well. Bar Molino Google Maps Location Spanish restaurant with an always changing menu of tapas, wonderful cocktail list and bottle shop. Estrella Cocina Google Maps Location Rooftop dining most often equates to the perfect date atmosphere – especially with a gorgeous urban setting around you. Enjoy their margaritas and location for the evening. Rue Saint Marc Google […]

It has been awhile since I have posted a Jax date idea in my #jaxdateseries! Obviously the world we have been living in lately isn’t lending itself to fine dining, movie theaters or certain experiences. As we navigate our new normal, I believe there are still ways to support local businesses and have special moments even if it looks different. This time is all about mornings on the ocean with impeccable coffee and a great breakfast on the sand. The other weekend I visited some favorites in Atlantic Beach and think it would make a safe and fun date (earlier the better in this heat). Hotel Palms x Show Pigeon Coffee It is no secret I love Hotel Palms on the weekend as Show Pigeon Coffee creates the perfect coffee cocktails. Payment is completely contactless, and you can take it to go or sit at a distance outside from other customers in the beautiful courtyard. You may also like… Coffee to-go with contactless payment in Jacksonville, FL Homespun Pantry Order from their website beforehand, and your food will be waiting on a table for you inside. My favorites are the Phoenix Breakfast wrap and A A ron smoothie. Beach […]

For those have been following me for awhile you know I love downtown Jax. I love receiving messages from people saying they explored the city of Jax using my blog post. I will say it again and again but exploring your backyard is always doable especially in the sprawling city of Jacksonville. Although the city of Jax is not bumpin’ at 9PM, there are still a few spots for a romantic night or just a change of scenery on your Friday after work. This Jax date series is all about short and sweet ideas for the perfect afternoon or evening. Jax Date Series: Downtown (cruising through the alley) Dinner at BellWether Bellwether is a restaurant serving elevated southern food, and located in the heart of downtown. Outside seating, creative menu and Cheesecake Rangoon (need I say more). One of the first places my husband and I had a date night was here. A sister restaurant to Orsay and Black Sheep, Bellwether is the perfect spot to enjoy a nice dinner in the city. Rooftop drinks at Cowford Chophouse I love a nice rooftop for happy hour or pre/post dinner drinks because you really feel like you are in a […]

Slow weekend morning dates are often the best – wouldn’t you agree? Coffee and an abundance of breakfast carbs can be just as romantic as a fancy Happy Hour. Replace candlelit dinners with cozy cafe couches and a glass of wine with a large oat milk latte. Mornings are often not enjoyed on the weekdays for me, so on the weekend I love when I can take my time to sip on coffee (or a mimosa). A morning in Murray Hill is the perfect place to enjoy a slow weekend. Short and sweet, here is a date idea for a morning in Murray Hill: Breakfast at Community Loaves. One of my favorite places to have a morning meal. My cravings for their avocado toast or light pancakes with candied walnuts usually lead me to Community Loaves. With cooler weather, sit in their back garden and enjoy a great morning date with a creative and fresh baked menu. Coffee crawl Coffee at Vagabond Walk over from Community Loaves and sit awhile (outside or inside). Vagabond is a regular spot for me in Jacksonville and is the perfect place for locals or those traveling through. (Try a baked good if you […]

An evening in San Marco is perhaps one of the easiest areas for a Jax date night. The perfect neighborhood to walk around surrounded by great cocktail bars and impeccable restaurants. Walking around the San Marco square is a must, and the hub of this charming neighborhood. Like many small pockets of Jacksonville, San Marco has an immense amount of history, including the oldest community-run theater. With as many parks, fountains, eateries, boutiques and things to do it isn’t easy choosing a few spots to go for one night. There will be just have to be more San Marco date night options in the future. Dinner, drinks, and a movie has been the perfect date recipe for years now, making it a timeless one. This classic trio is elevated thanks to a night in San Marco. Dinner at Rue Saint Marc. Rue Saint Marc is a French restaurant that lends itself for a promising happy hour, or a dinner to celebrate a special event. A place where no matter what dish you get, you won’t be disapointed (or at least we weren’t). I went here recently and tried a few small plates as well as entrees. Everything was cooked perfectly […]
